INTRODUCE :
The hole diameter of the threaded flange matches the pipe size. They provide quick and easy connections but are not suitable for high-pressure applications. Threaded flanges are most commonly used in low-pressure applications.
Kingrail Parts offers carbon steel and stainless steel neck threaded flanges in accordance with EN 1092-1/13.
Standards: ASTM A105, ASTM A182
Materials: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel
Size Range: 1/2'', 1'', 2'', 3'', 4'' to 24''
Pressure Rating: Class 150 to 2500
Face: Raised Face (RF), Ring Type Joint (RTJ)
SPECIFICATIONS :
Although threaded pipe flanges are available in different sizes, threaded fittings are mainly used for small diameter pipes. (Usually less than 4 inches.)
On the other hand, it is not compatible with thin-walled piping systems because there is no space for threading.
Threaded Flange Types
There are two types of threaded flanges. One is to seal the two pipe ends with a certain sealing surface and a lens gasket. This flange is mainly used in synthetic ammonia production. But in recent years, this type of flange is less used, and the lens gasket has been replaced by a metal ring.
The other type is the same as the ordinary flange, using two flange sealing surfaces for sealing.
Face type
There are two types of end faces of threaded flanges: raised face flanges and ring connection flanges.
Raised face threaded flange
The raised face flange is easy to identify when the gasket surface area is higher than the flange bolt connection line. It is compatible with a variety of gaskets, from flat gaskets to semi-metallic gaskets and metal gaskets, whether ring gaskets or full metal gaskets.
The main scope of the raised face flange design is to concentrate the pressure of the two mating flanges on a small surface and increase the sealing strength.
The height of the raised face depends on the flange pressure grade, for example, for pressure grades 150 and 300, the height is 1.6 mm or 1/12 inch, and for grades 400 to 2500, the height of the raised face is about 6.4 mm or 1/4 inch.
RTJ threaded flange
Ring-joint flanges have circular grooves to accommodate ring-joint gaskets and can be used where metal-to-metal sealing is required, especially under high pressure and high temperature conditions.
Reference standards and grades
ASTM A105: Standard forged carbon steel pipe components for ambient and high temperature/high pressure systems. ASTM
A182: Standard for alloy and stainless steel threaded flanges. Common alloy grades: F5, F9, F11, F22, F91; stainless steel grades: F304, 304/, F316, F316L.
Easy installation and maintenance
The threaded flange is screwed into the threaded pipe through the threads machined in the inner hole of the flange, without welding. Therefore, compared with other types of flanges such as slip-on flanges and socket welding flanges, threaded flanges are more convenient to install and maintain.
Measurement
If the threaded pipe flange can be measured accurately, the following data is required:
O: Flange outer diameter
C: Flange thickness
R: Raised face diameter
X: Bottom hub diameter
Y: Hub length
T: Minimum thread length
Q: Minimum bolt circle diameter
