115RE rail conforms to the standard rail section shape of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance Association (AREMA). Its nominal weight is 56.9 kg/m, equivalent to 115 pounds per yard. Therefore, it is also called 115 lbs rail. As a heavy rail, it is mainly used for mine tracks due to its high strength. 115RE rail is heat treated to control the hardness and strength of the steel.
